Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc have been planted in our vineyard because these early maturing varieties are ideally suited to the cooler Southern Hawke’s Bay climate, which is more similar to Martinborough and Wairarapa than the traditional Hawke’s Bay clime. The long cool growing season produces wine with concentrated fruit flavours.
The ‘True Colours Series’ wines
These wines strive for restrained elegance and finesse and display a true complexity imbued with original and unique soil tones. The combination of handpicked perfectly ripe fruit and experienced winemaking skills allows for a ‘terroir’ led expression of the varietal, this is the ‘Mangaorapa style’.
